Every site is quoted before work starts. The quote lists the pages, what's included and what extra work costs. Quotes are good for 14 days. Shoots and visits: the first 15 miles from Washington, IL are free, then $1/mile each way.
Keep it up to date.
Hosting only
Your site stays online. Your web address renews yearly at cost. Changes are quoted when you need them.
Care
Up to 30 minutes of updates a month: new photos, prices, hours, notices. I check that your form works every month.
Care Plus
Up to 1 hour a month, plus updates to your Google listing. Same monthly form check.
Cancel anytime. The site stays online either way. Unused time doesn't carry over. New pages or a redesign are quoted first.
Who owns what.
You own your web address (domain), your email addresses, your logo, the photos you send me, your business details, your reviews and your Google Business Profile (if I set it up, I hand it over once Google verifies it). I own the site's code, design, and the text and graphics I make for it, and license them to you while I host the site. I keep the copyright on photos and video I shoot. A package with a shoot includes business and ad use. Want the site itself? Buy it out any time for 50% of the build price on your quote, and I'll move it into your own accounts. If I close or stop hosting your site, you get the site files at no charge.
How a site gets built.
Talk
Call, text or send the form. I'll ask what you do, where you work and what customers ask before they hire you. If we sit down to plan the site, that's $25, credited in full when you book the build.
Quote
You get one price and a list of what's included. Jobs of $200 and up start with a 50% deposit. The rest is due at launch.
Build
I send you a preview link. Two rounds of changes are included before launch.
Launch
The site goes live at your web address, and I set it up so Google and Bing can find it. Then pick a care plan, or none.
Questions.
Can I edit the site myself?
Not the way you would on Wix or Squarespace. I build each site by hand, which keeps it fast. You call, text or email me the change, and a care plan covers the usual ones.
Do I need Squarespace, Wix or WordPress?
No. The site runs on Cloudflare and hosting is free. You pay for your web address at cost.
What do you need from me?
Your logo if you have one, photos of your work, your services, the towns you cover, and the phone number and email you want on the site. If you have a Facebook page, I can start from that.
How long does it take?
The site: within 10 business days of getting your content, or sooner. With Business + Video, the video and photos come within 10 business days of the shoot, or sooner.
Do you write the words?
Yes. I write them from a conversation with you, and nothing goes live until you've read it.
Can you do an online store or booking?
Ask me. Those are quoted separately, and some need a paid service.
What if I want to leave?
Buy the site out for 50% of the build price on your quote and I'll move it into your accounts. Your web address is registered in your name. I manage it and move it to your own account whenever you ask.
