Designed. Printed.
Every part starts as a 3D model — drafted in CAD, tolerance-checked, and printed to fit. Production-grade nylon parts for the engine bay, interior, and everywhere a stock part fell short.
Meet the Designer
Ben Hoffman
Founder · Lead Product Designer · CAD & 3D PrintingI started Silvades because I was tired of seeing automotive parts that were close enough. Close enough doesn't cut it when you're building something that has to perform.
Every part I design begins as a full 3D parametric model — tolerance-checked and test-fit before anything gets manufactured. My primary method is 3D printing in PA6-GF (glass-filled nylon) — the same industrial-grade material used in OEM under-hood components. Heat-resistant, chemically resistant, and strong enough to replace injection-molded parts.
The flagship product is the Volvo T6 cold air intake, currently on its fourth design iteration. Recent work also includes custom tractor lighting housings, pulley assemblies, fan remakes, and precision-fit mounting brackets. If it needs to be designed, modeled, and made to actually fit — that's what I do.
Services
3D-Printed Performance Parts
Custom intakes, ducting, sensor housings, and structural components — printed in PA6-GF nylon and designed for your exact application. Past builds include the Volvo T6 cold air intake (now v4), custom tractor lighting housings, fan remakes, and precision mounting brackets.
Custom Dashes & Panels
Gauge pods, switch panels, center consoles, and interior trim pieces — drafted from scratch in CAD and built to OEM-quality fitment. Every curve and mounting point is modeled to your specific vehicle. No universal kits.
Reverse Engineering
Existing part you can't source anymore? Bracket no one makes? We measure, scan, or model from your reference, then deliver a parametric CAD file and a printed prototype — ready to fit-check on the actual car.
What We Print With
Glass-Filled Nylon
Primary go-to. Heat-resistant, chemically stable, structurally strong. The same material family used in OEM under-hood parts.
Carbon-Fiber Nylon
Higher stiffness and dimensional stability than PA6-GF. Used where flex is the enemy — brackets, mounts, structural housings.
PETG Carbon
Tough, UV-stable, and chemically resistant. Good fit for visible parts that need to look as good as they perform.
Flexible TPU
For grommets, isolators, dampeners, and custom gaskets. Shore-A spec picked to match the application, not guessed at.
From Concept to Car
Measure
Calipers, scanners, references — nothing starts in CAD until the real-world dimensions are locked in.
Model
Full parametric CAD. Wall thickness, draft, mounting points and tolerances all checked before manufacturing.
Printed in PA6-GF nylon (or the right material for your application). Industrial-grade hardware, not desktop hobbyist.
Fit
Test-fit on the vehicle. If it doesn't drop in clean the first time, it goes back to the model — not onto the car.
